Healthy and safe through the winter

The winter sun shines brightly, the snow glistens like a thousand diamonds, you glide down the mountain on your skis or snowboard, only to go straight back up again for another round – winter is the best time of year for keen winter sports fans. Numerous protective measures are being implemented for winter sports enthusiasts to ensure that snow fans can enjoy the joys of winter without any worries this winter:

Cleanliness has always been the be-all and end-all in our hotels.

Disinfectant dispensers are installed in all rooms.

Guests have easy access to our attractive and, above all, protective “The Sense of Safety” sanitiser line in all rooms, corridors and on all tables.

The tables in the restaurants are sanitised daily.

There are increased cleanliness controls in the wellness areas.

Disinfectant bottles are “within reach” everywhere at the buffets.

In public areas such as the lift, at the buffet, in the wellness oasis etc., our guests are informed personally and by signs about the use of disinfectant dispensers.

In winter, we refrain from organising Tuesday and Saturday events in the hotel in the form of live bands and increased crowds of guests from outside the hotel. In addition, the closing time is set at 1.00 am.

Après-ski will probably be banned indoors in the region. This is likely to become the rule throughout Austria this winter. However, the huts on the Hochkönig are characterised by their high quality of service. Self-service restaurants are not an issue here, so no queues are to be expected.

All gondolas and chairs on the lifts are automatically sanitised. Ski operations are optimised in terms of visitor flow.

Mouth and nose protection suitable for winter sports will be issued once with every ticket purchase.

Mouth and nose protection (MNS) must be worn on the ski bus, in the ticket office and cable car area as well as in all means of transport such as gondola lifts, chairlifts, etc. until further notice.

Mouth and nose protection is not mandatory on the slopes.

All cable cars are public transport and are subject to the same regulations. The employees of the cable car companies are trained and instructed according to standardised guidelines and regulations on coronavirus safety measures.

The cable car companies each have a coronavirus officer who is responsible for planning and implementing the measures.

All means of transport such as gondola lifts, chairlifts, etc. are ventilated as well as possible during the journey.

All lift equipment such as gondola lifts, chairlifts, etc. are regularly disinfected.

Disinfection facilities are available in all toilets in the ski area.

Guests are informed of the applicable coronavirus safety regulations by means of signs and loudspeaker announcements in the ski area.

Events in the ski area will be reduced to a regulated level in order to avoid mass gatherings.

The cancellation conditions in the region are regulated in a very service-oriented manner. Cancellations can be made free of charge up to two weeks before arrival.

Ski Amadé ski passes will be refunded depending on use in the event of a corona-related lockdown.

Good tip:

Europäische Reiseversicherung currently also includes cancellation and curtailment cases in connection with Covid-19 in its scope of insurance. We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance at the same time as booking your holiday. Our reservation ladies will be happy to advise you.

Good to know:

The Hochkönig region is the ski area in Salzburg with the most piste area per skier. This means that the pistes are less busy and there are no crowds at the valley, gondola and lift stations. These are good conditions for keeping your distance when skiing in the Hochkönig region.

The small, family-run hut culture with great regional cuisine is another plus point for skiing holidays in the Hochkönig region. There are no large-scale operations here, no mass catering and no self-service establishments. Our huts rely on seat reservations in winter. This means that all safety, hygiene and distancing rules can be adhered to.

This is also how we will celebrate the turn of the year at Hotel Eder and Hotel SEPP this year: small and cosy, safe and healthy.

And: In the winter season this year, our guests can cancel or rebook free of charge up to 14 days before arrival!

We wish our guests a sporty, exuberant, carefree, snowy, happy winter season and “stay healthy”!
